Happy Hump Day! How is your week going? We are knee deep in finalizing Q2 editorial calendars for clients. It’s a fun part of our support role with clients! We look at their goals for their senior care inbound marketing, see what we’ve done that is connecting with families, and what opportunities there are out there.
The Senior Living and Home Care Call-to-Action
As we are working our way through all of this, one topic that has come up more than a time or two the past month is clients wanting examples of what we consider quality CTAs. The call-to-action on your site is important in building a relationship. But so many times senior living and home care providers completely miss this piece. We’ve talked before about the call-to-action chain and how to advance a relationship online. (Check the end of this post for links to past blogs on the topic.)
What Goes in a Senior Living or Home Care Online Marketing Guide?
Think about the problems and issues that send adult children to their laptop or tablet in search of answers. Those are the CTA opportunities! Examples could include:
- How to Prevent Falls in an Aging Parent
- How to Pay for Assisted Living Care
- How to Choose a Rehab Center
- How to Talk with Kids about a Grandparent’s Diagnosis of Dementia
You probably already have some great content on these topics right? Repurpose it and create a guide to use for a CTA! You could take it a step further and set it up in SlideShare and/or create a video.
Good Use of Guides in Senior Care Inbound Marketing
We’ve taken a long look at a variety of assisted living and home care sites in an effort to share how a few companies are making good use of senior related guides for CTAs. This seems to be an area many of you are interested in learning more about. Here are a few we think you will find helpful:
- 5 Ways to Pay for Home Care: This great tool is from Griswold Home Care. Why we like this one in particular is that cost is almost always one of the early questions families have in their search. The title alone answers a question adult children are likely typing in to their Google search bar. Griswold does a nice job of making this a factual guide while not be overtly “salesy”. Griswold does a great job overall, but we especially like their guides and infographics.
- The Essential Caregivers Guide: United Methodist Homes has done a nice job using guides to build relationships. We’ve shared this one in particular, but they have a variety of senior care inbound marketing guides to engage adult children and families. They range from Ringing in the New Year with an Aging Loved One to 7 Bad Excuses for Not Taking Advantage of a Trial Stay.
- The Home Care Solution: If you are kicking around the idea of something that is a lengthier, magazine-style CTA check this one out. It is from Home Instead. The guide is visually appealing and comprehensive. While it is branded, it isn’t riddled with obvious sales pitches.
One final point is… just get started! Start simple and build from there. Even a simple CTA will put you ahead of the majority of assisted living and home care providers out there! Shoot us a note if we can be of help.
