RankBrain Article Round Up for Senior Care Providers

While we try to make our blog articles fun to read, there are just some topics we can’t find a way to make humorous. Like this latest update from our pals at Google.

Its name is, RankBrain.

(I know… it’s a Google update that doesn’t have a critter name like we’ve all gotten used to over the past few years.)

RankBrain is an artificial intelligence algorithm.

Sounds a little NSA-like doesn’t it?

The fine folks at Bloomberg are the ones who first tipped the world off to this update. Google is using RankBrain to serve up better search results. It is said to be especially targeted at the unique questions Google gets from all of us who furiously type our ever-increasingly specific queries in to those little search boxes each day. (About 15% of search queries Google receives each day are ones they’ve never seen before.)

We thought the Bloomberg article announcing the arrival of RankBrain described it well:

“RankBrain uses artificial intelligence to embed vast amounts of written language into mathematical entities — called vectors — that the computer can understand.

If RankBrain sees a word or phrase it isn’t familiar with, the machine can make a guess as to what words or phrases might have a similar meaning and filter the result accordingly, making it more effective at handling never-before-seen search queries.”

So if you have insomnia and need a little help falling asleep that doesn’t involve one of those meds that will leave you sleep driving or sleep baking or sleep eating… This list is for you!
