We’ve talked a lot about how the internet has changed the way families find senior living communities. Number crunchers all have differing numbers on what percentage of families have checked out your senior living website before they call. But it’s safe to safe the majority of families have spent time on your website before making contact with you.
Families Spend Time Researching Senior Living Websites
Our crew thought this graphic was an interesting one. It kind of takes things one step further.
While we are fairly confident saying our industry isn’t one where people can make a decision independent of any human interaction, they may develop biases for —and against — communities based on what they see online.
Which begs the question… what does your site say about you? Does it engage family visitors and pull them in to take a closer look?
Senior Living Website Makeovers
As we head in to the holiday season, where concerned families may be just beginning to jump on to Google and begin searching for answers, it’s a good time to evaluate your senior living website.
Yep… a website makeover can be painful.
At SCS, we’ve spent the past month or so doing that to ours. And trying to enlist a company we feel confident can help us improve our site without destroying our first page ranking on Google.
How did we start?
By asking prospects and a few clients to give us their honest assessment of our site. Ugh. It can hurt.
But it reinforced what we already knew: our content rocks but our site looks like what it is…an almost three year old site that needs a refresh.
So our suggestion for you is to carve out some time…identify a few prospects and a few resident families… a throw yourself a little focus-group like party!
And if your senior living content needs some help, shoot us a note. We are booking in to the new year, so it’s never to early to get in touch!
