We receive a lot of email from blog subscribers and visitors. And SEO has been a hot topic lately…
One question that’s popped up more than a few times lately is asking if we offer any services to “SEO” blog posts.
Apparently there are companies offering to take a list of generic industry keywords and insert them multiple times in to blog posts. After the articles are already written.
In fact, one of the organizations offering this service is a fairly large agency that works exclusively in with senior living providers.
UGH.
Apparently, you send these folks articles your team writes for your senior living website or blog and they “SEO them.”
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to “SEO an article.” That’s just not how any of this works.
If an agency charged you to “SEO blog posts,” they aren’t legit.
Create an invoice for the amount you paid, attach this article to it, and send them to the agency demanding your Benjamins back.
Keywords aren’t a bunch of words you jam in to articles and web pages after they are written.
Instead, keyword research should be a foundation you build an article on and around.
It’s a strategy that includes more than just copying and pasting “assisted living” or “retirement community” in to your content.
They should be thoughtfully researched, and incorporated in to articles that educate or inform.
The voice and tone of the article shouldn’t make visitors want to hit the return arrow.
If someone tries to tell you otherwise or sell you a phony “SEO-ing service,” put ’em on blast. It’s time to shine the spotlight on some of these scammers.
