Senior living blog posts are a great avenue for talking directly with older adults and their families.
You can educate and inform visitors in an informal way. That allows you to build a relationship without prospects feeling like you are selling to them.
In fact, if your blog seems like one long sales pitch to a visitor, visitors will likely bounce from your site quickly and not return.
We spend a considerable amount of time strategizing about blogs. Topics, keywords, CTAs, and every little detail associated with creating an effective blog.
Not to brag, okay maybe a little bit of bragging, but it’s really great content by the time we are finished.
That’s where the wheels sometimes come off the wagon. ..
Most of our clients do a great job repurposing their blog posts. When I say most, I mean about half.
Let’s face it, going the extra mile to get the most out of your blog posts is work.
We know some people don’t quite know what to do with the content, and others know what to do, they just can’t slow down long enough to do it.
If you fall in to either of those categories, we have a few suggestions you might find useful.
Making the Most of Your Senior Living Blog Posts
- Use it in an email/email campaign: This might seem obvious, but people often fail to send out blog posts via email. Encourage visitors to subscribe so they get an email when new posts are published.
- Create a monthly enewsletter: You should also be using blog articles in your monthly/quarterly enewsletters. Round them up and organize by topic or season or whatever theme you choose. No need to reinvent the wheel and write something new. (Yes, we seem to have unexpectedly gone with a wagon theme today!)
- Use them to nurture prospects: If you don’t have automation or you like the idea of a more personal approach, make a list of your favorite blog articles by topic. As you are working with prospects, pay close attention to what they say. What are they concerned about? Shoot one of the related posts over in an email or print a copy and send it by snail mail with a handwritten not.
- Add a Tweet app or plugin: Talk with your web crew about adding an app or plug in that allows you to tweet out bits and pieces of each blog post. It’s a good way to reach an audience that tends to be better educated and have a higher than average income.
- Explore LinkedIn: Google doesn’t seem to nab you for duplicate content when you publish the same articles on LinkedIn and your own site. Spend some time building your connections, and then share some of your best work on LinkedIn. Remember to link back to your blog.
- Post to SlideShare: Another place to publish your content and then link back to your blog from is SlideShare. Though it was recently purchased by Scribd, the early word is not much will change. You can take a blog post or a blog series and turn it in to a presentation you load to SlideShare.
