We all know what keywords are right? Despite all of the debate and denial that’s been happening in recent years, these words and phrases do impact your senior living website’s rank.
Keywords help define and connect a searcher’s intent with the information and resources they are seeking.
Content quality is another leading ranking factor. A mistake we still see people making with their senior care content is letting visitor experience suffer in order to stuff a specific keyword into a blog article over and over and over again. UGH.
Are you keyword stuffing?
Even if your blog post goal is to pump up your SEO, you still don’t want to create an article that negatively impacts your visitor’s experience.
They’ll just hop off your site and head back to the search engine results page.
What can you do to protect your senior living content’s quality while also incorporating relevant keywords for the search engines?
Use synonyms for keywords and phrases. Longtail keywords help, too.
We understand the struggle for keyword synonyms can be real. The thesaurus in your Word program probably won’t cut it for long.
Fortunately, the internet is full of thesaurus-style tools you will find helpful. Many of them are free to use.
Thesaurus Tools to Try
Here are a few of our favorite resources for finding synonyms for targeted keywords:
- Thesaurus.com: This platform couldn’t be any easier to use! Type your word or phrase in to the search box and hit enter. Voila! You’ll receive a list of options to review and consider. It also has a dictionary feature you might find useful, too.
- Word Hippo: Another type and click way to find synonyms for your keywords, Word Hippo is another freebie. One feature we like is that at the very bottom of the results page, you’ll find related words and phrases. They are often spot on in helping us find similar keywords to use.
- OneLook Thesaurus: It looks basic and no frills, but this tool is our favorite. While some online thesaurus platforms return an error message if you try to search by common industry phrases like assisted living or memory care, this one actually finds relevant options.
If you are struggling with keyword research, but don’t have the budget for one of the big name subscription companies, we get it. Those prices can take a bite out of your marketing budget. The good news is that there are some worthwhile freebie or inexpensive tools you can utilize.
