Who doesn’t love a tool or app that makes their job easier? Our crew definitely has some favorites.
And it seems like most of you are interested in using some, too.
We get a lot of questions about what is and isn’t a good investment when it comes to content tools.
While everyone has their personal preferences, there are some our whole team agrees on.
Let’s take a look at some we think you might find helpful, too.
Content Creator Tools to Explore
- Trello: We’ve used this one since it was in Beta form… which means at least the last ten or twelve years. It’s fantastic for archiving old content, sharing between team members, and saving work you have in progress to the cloud. The price is so low it’s tough to beat for the peace of mind it offers.
- Grammerly: If you need a little assist when it comes to grammar, this might be your solution. It looks for typos, misspellings, and problems with punctuation. While there is a paid, premium version, you might find the free one does everything you need.
- Canva: When you need an inexpensive way to create images for your social media platforms, you’ll want to be sure to check out Canva. It is intuitive to use and easy on the budget.
- SEM Keyword Magic Tool: Despite what you may have read, keywords are still important. And this tool from SEMrush will show you what people search for in Google as it relates to your topic.
- AlsoAsked: You’ve likely never heard of this one before, but we use it often. You know those questions you see in Google under your search query? Where it says “people also asked?” This tool grabs and organizes those. It’s a big help when you are trying to build out your content calendar.
- AnswerThePublic: This is another tool that will help you create content that answers the real questions senior living searchers have. It gathers the autocomplete suggestions that pop up in Google. You’ve seen them, right? They are what fills your search box as you are typing in a query. Like AlsoAsked, it can be a great way to come up with new ideas for your blog.
WordPress and Google
While not technically a tool, we are often asked about platforms. And which one our website is built on.
This is an easy one to recommend because it’s just that good.
The SCCS site is in WordPress. It’s easy to use and Google really seems to like websites built on it.
While Google says they don’t give preference to one content management system (CMS) over another…wink wink… there are lots of reasons WordPress sites seem to rank well.
Experts speculate it’s how SEO-friendly WordPress is that makes it perform so well in search engine results pages.
