Let’s face it, that big giant search engine we all spend so much time and effort catering to has made it more than a little difficult to know what kind of content to create lately. We don’t blame you if you are scratching your head wondering how you can possibly reach your senior living audience online…
Everything from frequency to length of content has become a little hazy in recent years.
But we still hold the belief that having great quality content on your senior living website, content that answers the questions older adults have, will still help you rank well.
So, when we came across this helpful graphic, we wanted to share it with all of you.
Content to Match Senior Living Audience Demands
While these survey results are just one of many you can find online, this is different in that the answers are coming directly from older adults themselves. That’s in contrast to many surveys and focus groups that are actually a compilation of answers from adult child influencers and their senior loved ones.
None of the information shared in this image is probably new though, right? But there are a few notables to point out and keep in mind as you are planning your content strategy for the upcoming year:
- Show Them the Money: The “cost and affordability” issue earned the top spot. We know this continues to be a hot topic but it really shouldn’t be. Almost 54% of people want to see the cost of your community on your website. Extra points for those who create blog articles, guides, and tools that help seniors and their loved ones
- Concerns About Safety: If you’ve been in the industry for a while, it’s likely that you have come across statistics that show this one differently. Other surveys have found that safety and security rank number one for adult children, but have historically been lower for seniors themselves.
- It’s About the Lifestyle: When we’ve conducted our own family surveys, seniors often cite a variety of lifestyle factors as being important. And it’s an area their adult children often agree with. But we still come across senior living websites that don’t showcase these programs. Even ones that have fabulous dining options and a rich variety of activities don’t share that on their websites. And we’ve yet to come across a provider that devotes web space to their transportation services.
